Thorndike- Lawrence “Larry” A. Guimond passed away on January 25, 2026 at the age of 68 at his home in Thorndike. Born on November 5, 1957, in Springfield, MA, Larry was a remarkable individual whose spirit and passion for life touched everyone who crossed his path.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Leo J. and Mary Hilda (Peters) Guimond, and his beloved siblings, Lorraine, Peter, and Brian Guimond. He is survived by his wife Jessica Guimond Courville, stepdaughter Madison Blanchard, siblings Richard and Nancy Guimond, cousins Gary Peters and Patricia McGrath, and many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will remember him fondly for his warm and outgoing nature.
Larry worked as a master sheet metal fabricator for KAD Industries, where he dedicated over 20 years of skill and craftsmanship to the trade. Larry was an avid outdoorsman and had a great appreciation for nature. He was happiest when hunting with his buddies, camping with a great bunch of lifelong friends and family, or taking his dogs, especially Max, for long walks down the rivers of Three Rivers. His zest for life extended to riding the backroads of Western Massachusetts on his motorcycle or tinkering with his ancient jeep and then taking it for a joyride. For decades he also played in a pitch league and dabbled in competitive-level pool at Amvets in Three Rivers. A true New England sports fan, Larry always rooted for the Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots. More than anything, he treasured the moments spent with family and friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Services will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home in Palmer, MA, with a period of visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry's memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association by visiting www.diabetes.org.
Larry leaves behind a legacy of kindness and camaraderie, reminding us all to cherish the simple pleasures of life and the company of those we hold dear. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
