Jeffrey T. McMaster, age 63, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026, surrounded by family.
Jeff was born on July 30, 1962, to Kenneth E. and Sandra L. (Duncan) McMaster in Moline, Illinois. He grew up in Coal Valley, Illinois, and graduated from Moline High School in 1980. During his youth in the Quad Cities, Jeff was active in sports, playing baseball, football, and wrestling throughout his junior high and high school years. He was also proud to serve his community as a volunteer firefighter/EMT with the Coal Valley Fire Protection District.
In 1983, Jeff relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida, where he later welcomed his greatest pride and joy—his daughter, Chelsea—in 1985. While living in Florida, he worked for General Development, ATC Associates, and the North Port Water Control District. In 1995, Jeff married his late wife, Peg, and together they built several successful businesses, including Lee Squared Inc., The Mecca, and Galleria Antique Malls.
Following retirement, Jeff embraced life fully. He enjoyed traveling, taking trips down the bay on his boat, rides on his Harley, and spending time in Key West, where countless cherished memories were made with family and friends.
Jeff was a member of the Punta Gorda Moose and the American Legion Aux 103. In 2024, he remarried to Deborah, who lovingly aided in his care until the very end.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Sandra McMaster; his brother, Kevin McMaster; and his beloved wife, Peggy McMaster.
He is survived by his spouse, Deborah McMannis; his daughter, Chelsea (Matt) Bailey of Texas; his stepdaughter, Tricia (Ron) Murray, and stepson, Chad (Jen) Schuler, all of North Port; his grandchildren, Peyton McGee of Arcadia, Andy (Sabrina) Murray, Cole (Diana) Murray, Aliya Schuler, and Joshua Schuler all of North Port; three great-grandchildren; his sisters, Tammy (Mike) Bryant and Tina Klauer; his brother, Terry (Kim) McMaster, all of Illinois; many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly; along with his loyal four-legged companion, Winston.
Jeff will be remembered for his quick wit, funny one-liners, and steady, comforting presence. May he now rest peacefully, reunited with those who went before him, the wind at his back, the road wide open—forever riding free.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Jeff.
