Elaine June Pullin
August 17, 1936 – January 25, 2026
A woman who left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone who knew her. Elaine passed away on January 25, 2026, at the age of 89. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; that was the steady foundation of her family.
Elaine was born August 17, 1936, in Burns, Wyoming, she was one of eight children of Walter and Jean Saxton. She shared a lifelong bond of being a twin born alongside her sister, Elainor.
The family moved to Carlton, Oregon in 1950 for 5 years before moving to New Plymouth, Idaho. Elaine’s years were spent caring for others, working as a nanny in Boise during her teens. After graduating from High School, she moved to Fruitland, Idaho. She worked at the local cannery where she found the love of her life, Wallace Pullin. The two were married in 1959 at the Church of the Brethren. They began a life together that spanned over six decades. Elaine was an influential fixture in the Fruitland community. She dedicated 32 years of her life to the Fruitland Elementary School as a teacher’s aide, patiently guiding young students. Her commitment to local-term involvement with the Fruitland Band Boosters, where she eventually served as president.
Outside of her professional life, Elaine found peace in her garden and joy in the pages of western novels and scenes of a western movie. Above all, she was devoted to her family. Elaine and Wallace had two children, Curtis and Deanna. She helped raise her granddaughter, Kristina. She taught them a signature blend of love and grace. In her later years she found immense joy in her great-grandson, Christopher.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Jean; brothers, Leroy and Clarence; her sisters, Mary Etta and Evelyn; sister-in-law, Pat; and her beloved daughter, Deanna.
She is survived by her husband, Wallace; her son, Curtis; her granddaughter, Kristina (Chris) and great grandson, Christoper.
Though Elaine is no longer with us, her spirit lives in the gardens she tended, and the acts of kindness she performed.
Graveside services will be held on February 4th in Parkview Cemetery, New Plymouth, Idaho at 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to the Veteran's Hall in New Plymouth following the graveside service for snacks and drinks.
