Alvin Ray Andres, 86, passed away on January 24, 2026. He was born
in Greeley, Colorado on January 30, 1939. He later moved to Windsor,
graduating from Windsor High School in 1957. He then began his
career at Woodward Governor. He married Evelyn Young on April 15,
1961 and was drafted into the U. S. Army exactly one year and one day
later. He completed basic training in Missouri and was stationed briefly
in Oklahoma before being deployed to Baumholder, Germany for 16
months.
When he returned from serving his country, he returned to Woodward
Governor for his 30 year career. During this time he and Evey had 2
children and enjoyed their life in Fort Collins. He spent time always
having a beautiful yard, attending his daughter’s activities, coaching his
son’s little league sports and being an avid runner and golfer.
After retiring, he and Evey spent time both in Arizona and Colorado,
enjoying family, friends, golf, travel and sports. He loved his family and
his country.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Andres; daughter Cheryl Roberts
(Alan), son Curtis Andres (ToniRae), grandsons Cyle Weaver, Cory
Weaver (Natalie), Reece Andres, and Scott Roberts; great
grandchildren Cory Weaver Jr. and Aden Shriver and many family and
friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence W. and Merna Andres,
brother Stan Andres and his wife Marilyn.
Special thanks to Columbine staff in Windsor and the Pathways
Hospice.
