Sadie Marie Stanley Collier, 93, of New London, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
Born August 25, 1932, in Greensboro, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Christopher Columbus Stanley and Florence Mae Carter Stanley. She grew up in a large family with six brothers and four sisters. Sadie lived a life marked by faith, service, and a steady love for family and friends. She was known for her encouragement, generosity, and her gift for making others feel loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George “Sonny” Washington Collier Jr.; her son, Randy Stanley Collier; her grandson, Raymond Stephen Collier; and her six brothers and four sisters.
Sadie was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She found joy in her church, Chandler’s Grove Global Methodist Church, in volunteering, and in supporting her family in every way. She took pride in her community involvement and was a member of the Shriners Ladies Auxiliary and the Oasis Shriners Hillbilly Clan 13 Parade Unit. She also spent many years volunteering with the Badin Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
Sadie worked as a bookkeeper for Piedmont Auto Parts, Sears, Heffner Tires, Teague Tires, and Strong Tires. She also worked for Guilford County Schools as a cafeteria manager, ensuring students received hearty, tasty meals. In addition, she worked with McKee Foods, where she assisted Sonny, a distributor for Little Debbie Snack Cakes, in serving various stores and businesses.
Sadie is survived by her daughter, Cathy Collier Lookadoo and husband David; her grandson, Michael Lookadoo and wife Haley; her granddaughter, Rebecca Lookadoo; and four great-grandchildren: Nathan, Abigayle, Aiden, and Ferryn.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home, 300 West Wendover Ave, Greensboro, North Carolina, on Wednesday, February 4th 2026. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:00PM at Lakeview Memorial Park, 3600 N. O.Henry Blvd, Greensboro, North Carolina.
The family will also hold a Memorial Service at Chandler's Grove Global Methodist Church on a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Chandler’s Grove Global Methodist Church or Tillery Compassionate Care in Sadie’s memory. The family would also like to thank Tillery Compassionate Care and all medical providers who cared for Sadie for their kindness, compassion, and love.
