Gelena La’Neal Ford Wilson entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 24, 2026, in Bluffton, South Carolina. While her passing brings sorrow, we rejoice knowing she is now healed, whole, and home.
Born February 22, 1951, in Fort Worth, Texas, Gelena was the only child of Mary Elizabeth Sanders Ford and David O’Neal Ford. A fourth-generation Assemblies of God minister, she devoted her life to serving Christ through ministry to youth, the Deaf community, missions, and hospital chaplaincy.
On March 29, 1975, Gelena married the love of her life, Bobby Dean Wilson. They shared 50 years and 10 months of marriage rooted in faith, love, and devotion. Her greatest joy was being a wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Dean Wilson; daughter Brandy Marie; son Bradford Doyle Wilson and wife Jayme; daughter Bobbie Jalene Wilson; and many extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life drop-in will be held Sunday, March 1, from 2:00–4:00 PM in the Okatie Room, 140 Colvin Drive, Bluffton, SC 29909.
