Diane “Dee” Quinlan Curcio entered into eternal life on Monday, January 5, surrounded by God’s grace and welcomed into Paradise to the rejoicing of legions of angels. During her life on earth, Dee faithfully did God’s work, touching the lives of all who knew her with love, generosity, and unwavering faith. While her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved her, we take great comfort in knowing she now rests in the loving embrace of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for all eternity.
Dee was born on April 15, 1947, in Miami, Florida, to Lawrence and Jacquiline Quinlan. She graduated from Island Trees High School in Levittown, New York, in 1965. It was there that she met the love of her life, Richard Curcio. They were married on August 23, 1969, in Bethpage, New York, beginning a devoted marriage that spanned decades.
From 1970 to 1972, Dee worked at Grumman Aircraft, where she held the unique distinction of working on the Lunar Module and had the opportunity to meet astronauts of that historic era. In January 1977, Dee and her family relocated to Venice, Florida, where she devoted herself to raising her family. While caring for her two sons and numerous nephews, she attended Manatee Community College and later achieved her lifelong goal of earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida in 1988.
Dee is survived by her loving sisters, Carolyn Quinlan and Elizabeth Quinlan; her beloved husband, Richard Curcio; her sons, Brenden Curcio and his wife Patricia, and their children Jack, Isabella (Bella), and Juliana (Jules); and Denis Curcio and his wife Michelle, and their daughter Sophia (Sophie). She is also survived by eight nephews, one niece, four great-nephews, three great-nieces, and numerous dear friends.
A Catholic Mass of Celebration of Life will be held at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice on March 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception in honor of Dee’s remarkable life. She will be laid to rest at sea in the Gulf of America.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Diane’s memory to Diamond Booster, Inc., Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
