Susan V. Simeone, 82, of Perth, NY, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 22, 1943, in Amsterdam, NY, to the late Henry and Anna (Karp) Violyn.

Susan had a lifelong passion for teaching. She began her career as an English teacher at Perth Central School shortly after graduating from college. She later taught at Galway School before retiring from Gloversville High School after 28 dedicated years of service. Throughout her career, Susan touched countless lives through her love of literature, learning, and her students.

Above all else, Susan cherished time spent with her family, especially her beloved grandsons, whom she adored. She also had a deep love for animals and a compassionate heart. Susan will be forever remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and generous spirit, which she shared freely with family, friends, and all who knew her.

Susan is survived by her daughters, Theresa Ann Simeone and Ann Marie Simeone (Stephen Pavone); her grandsons, Joshua Bruno and Jacob, Lucas, and Tanner Pavone; her sister, Diana Macfarlane; and her nephew, Douglas Macfarlane (Karen). 

The family has chosen to remember Susan’s life privately at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Regional SPCA in Gloversville or your local animal shelter in Susan’s memory.
