Nancy Ryans McCullough 80, of Surgoinsville, TN went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 30, 2026, at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Hawkins County, TN to the late Henry and Bessie Brewer Ryans. Nancy was a 1963 graduate of Lynn View High School and a devoted member of West View Primitive Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Georgia Tilson; brothers, Roy, Eddie, Hoover, Troy, Charlie, Coy, Sturgill, and Willard Ryans.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Gale McCullough; sons, Steve “Chainsaw” McCullough and wife Thelma, and Shirl McCullough; granddaughters, Jessica McCullough, Morgan Young and husband Cody, Madison Gladson and husband Brock; great grandchildren, Kambrie Grace Hilton, Miller Young, and Bryce Gladson; sister, Helen Case and husband Jerry; brother, Sinetker Ryans; special friend, Missy Walton; special nephew, Tony Ryans; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Jon Roger and Josh Rector officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1pm on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Zion Cemetery 6055 Horton Hwy, Baileyton, TN. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50pm.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedysis Hospice especially Megan for their loving care.
