Sandra (Sandy) Lou Thompson, 82, of Cambridge, Wisconsin, peacefully passed away January 15, 2026.

Sandy was born January 17, 1943 to Norman E. and Hazel M. Hanson. Sandy enjoyed recounting memories of her childhood spent in Rockdale, Wisconsin. While in high school, she met the love of her life, Joe. They were married September 23, 1961 and had recently celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Sandy’s love for her family was unconditional. She was most proud of being a wife, mother and grandmother. Her chattiness created friendships with everyone she met. She embodied love and faith and those around her knew they were loved.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents, Norman and Hazel Hanson; and brother, Randy Hanson.

Survivors include her children, Joseph Thompson Jr. (Marjorie Budahn), Craig Thompson and Tonia (Rick) Roedl; her grandchildren, Christine, Meghan, Ashley, Allison, Aaron, Shelli, Brian and Brett; her great-grandchildren, Lonnie Kate, Grayson, Gavin, Kohana, Parker, Tenlee, Easton, Casen, Cooper and Camryn Lou.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family will publish details when available.
