Kenny Matz, 55, of West Deptford, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
Legacy
He was a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. For 30 years, Kenny was a proud member of Philadelphia Building Trades Local 14, where he formed lifelong friendships and brotherhood. He especially loved spending time with his Union brothers, often meeting up for lunch and laughs with close friends Rob, Eric, and many others.
A true rock-and-roll soul, he had a deep love for music—especially Elvis—and could often be found with classic tunes playing, a Coors Light in hand. He was a passionate Philly sports fan, fiercely loyal and always ready to cheer on his teams. Athletic by nature, he loved playing sports and staying active.
At home, he found happiness in the simple things: cooking, listening to classic rock music, and relaxing with his loyal dog, Ozzy, by his side. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends, making memories that will be treasured forever.
Kenny will be remembered for his big heart, his love of life, and the way he made those around him feel welcome and valued. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family
He was the beloved husband of Lora J. Matz (nee Williams) and preceded in death by his late wife Diane, (the loving mother of Lisa, Taylor, and Josh.) He is survived by his devoted children: daughters Lisa, Taylor, Breanna, Britney, and sons Josh and Branden. He was a proud grandfather to Isabella Matz, who brought him endless joy. Dear son of Florence and Richard Matz. He is also survived by his siblings Howard Dickson (Cindy) and Veronica King (William), along with many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
