JT Mullican was born March 5, 1941, in McMinnville, Tennessee. He was married to Nancy Green Mullican (dec. August 15, 2016) for 52 years prior to her death. They had four children, John (dec. April 9, 1975), April Coffee (Barry), Sherry Birdwell (Kevin), and Tim Mullican (Kathy). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

JT served one tour in the United States Army. Most of his time was spent as part of the Military Police in London, England. He was a pulpit minister in the Church of Christ for about ten years and continued ministering for God even from his hospice bed, asking the nurses if they were Christians and ready to share Christ if they said no. He retired from Anatomic and Clinical Laboratory Associates (ACLA) after 24 years, 22 of which he did not take a single sick day. He was greatly loved by his co-workers there.

JT loved his family intensely. His favorite thing to do was go on vacation with his family, being particularly partial to a trip with the entire family to Fall Creek Falls State Park in Tennessee. His witty sense of humor kept his family in stitches. He spent his life ensuring everyone around him was laughing, even if it was at his own expense. He loved to draw, play pool and cornhole, and sharing God’s word with others. He knew the Bible like the back of his hand. He made everyone he knew feel special and loved.
