Martha Sue Ivester, 84, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength that will live on through generations. Born on August 20, 1941, in Wellston, Georgia now formally known as Warner Robins. Sue was the beloved daughter of the late Sally Mae Jackson Watson and Charles Watson. From her earliest days, Sue learned the values of hard work, faith, and family that would shape the course of her life.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring the life of Sue will begin at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, with burial immediately following at Magnolia Park Cemetery.

Raised as the child of a farmer, Sue understood the value of a dollar and the importance of responsibility at a young age. She worked alongside her parents and siblings, helping tend to fields and livestock, lessons that instilled in her a deep sense of perseverance, humility, and gratitude. These early experiences helped mold Sue into the steady, dependable, and selfless woman so many came to know and love.

Sue was a proud graduate of Warner Robins High School and remained a lifelong supporter of her beloved Demons. Her school pride never faded, and she could often be found at “The Mac,” cheering on the football team with enthusiasm, or listening faithfully to the game through Sports Mic when she couldn’t attend in person. Her loyalty to her school, her community, and the people she loved was unwavering.

Above all else, Sue was a loving and devoted family woman. She was present for every ball game, concert, recital, and school function, never missing an opportunity to support and encourage those she loved. What brought Sue the greatest joy was being surrounded by family and friends, especially when gathered around a shared meal. Sue began her day, every day by eating breakfast with her loving sister-in-law, Shirley at NuWay and the two would share countless laughs over a cup of coffee. In her younger years, she prepared three meals a day to ensure her family was cared for, nourished not only in body but in spirit. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, laughter, and love.

In her later years, Sue found her deepest joy in her grandchildren. No matter the event, big or small she was there, offering her presence, her encouragement, and her unconditional love. She exemplified what it truly means to show up for others, teaching by example that love is best expressed through time, attention, and faithfulness.

Sue was a believer in the Lord, and her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She trusted in God’s promises and lived with quiet assurance, grace, and kindness toward others. Today, her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of Jesus, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.

Sue Ivester will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her steadfast love, her devotion to family, and her enduring faith. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Sue was also a quiet source of wisdom for her family, always ready to share life advice shaped by experience, faith, and love. She believed deeply in doing what was right, working hard, and treating others with kindness and integrity. Sue gently challenged those around her to be the very best version of themselves, not through criticism, but through encouragement, honesty, and example. Her words carried weight because they were lived out daily, and her guidance will continue to echo into the lives of her family for years to come.

In addition to her parents, Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Ivester, her loving siblings, Charles Watson, Betty Laura Self, Darlene Ward.

Left to cherish her beautiful memory is her children: Liz Ivester, Lynn Schultz, Ricky (Heather) Ivester, Angie Williams; grandchildren: Michael Stuart, Lacy (Collin) Janowski, Macy (Christian) Cook, Zachary (Molly) Ivester; great-grandchildren: Addisyn Williams, Garrett Williams, Avery Stuart, Owen Stuart, Jett Cook. Sue is also survived by a host of extended family members and countless friends.

The family respectfully requests, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital.
