In Loving Memory of

                                                             Mary Tubbeh

                                                             1936 – 2026

Mary Tubbeh, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday January 23, 2026 at the age of 89. She was born in Jerusalem, Palestine, where she spent the majority of her earlier years surrounded by family, friends, tradition, and a deep sense of community that stayed with her throughout her life.

A woman of strength, warmth, and unwavering love, Mary carried her homeland in her heart wherever she went and was reflected in her tasty cooking and baking. Jerusalem was more than a place of birth; it was a source of pride, resilience, and identity that shaped her values and guided the way she lived and loved. Mary always referred to Palestine as “back-home”.

A resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1996. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Shafeek Tubbeh; her parents, Hannah and Margaret; and her brother George. She is survived by her children, Maher, Reem, Nader and Sima and respective spouses; her grandchildren, Nabil, Nadim, Munir, Leila and Sahlea; her siblings Issa, Nadia, Betty and Hala and many relatives and friends who will forever cherish her wisdom, kindness, and infectious smile.

Above all else, Mary was devoted to her family. She was a mother in every sense of the word loving, nurturing, endlessly supportive with a great sense of humor. Her home was a place of comfort, generosity, and delicious food, where everyone was welcomed and no one ever left hungry or unloved.

Mary’s strong faith has been her rock, carrying her through the hardest storms of her life. She was a devoted Christian who loved attending Sunday mass. She had a passion for needle and thread where she took pride in making Palestinian embroidery with its beautiful colorful threads. She adored birds especially humming birds and it brought her an immense amount of joy to watch them.

Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her love remains alive in the lives she touched, the traditions she passed on, and the memories that will be shared for generations.  She will be deeply missed!

May she rest in eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing.

Services will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 308 High Street NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102, on Thursday February 12th, 2026, with a viewing starting at 9:00AM and the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM.  The Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.  A celebration of life will proceed the Interment at St. George Orthodox Church Hall, 308 High St SE.
