Phyllis Ann Elliott passed away peacefully while under care at the Good Shepherd Hospice Center in Auburndale, Fl on February 4th, 2026, at the age of 73. She was born in Bridgeport, CT on April 12th, 1952, to Ann and Irving Watz. Phyllis was happily married to Timothy Elliott for almost 52 years- 52 years of “wedded bliss,” as she would sarcastically say, but with an earnest truth behind it.  They met in a bar in Westport, and Tim proposed to her on their second date, knowing this was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. They were married on March 9th, 1974. They eventually bought a house in Ansonia, CT, where they had two children (Crystal Lynn Macek, born March 11th, 1976, and Corey Christopher Elliott, born December 22nd, 1979) until unfortunate layoffs gave them reason to move to the sunshine state in 1988.

Anyone who knew Phyllis could easily say that she always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a selfless wife and homemaker almost her entire life, although took brief moments of employment to assist with putting their two children through college, or to help in tough times. She would always volunteer to help out friends, for school functions, or even teach craft classes for the city of Auburndale’s summer camps. Phyllis loved to do arts and crafts, which is a skill she instilled into her children and now, grandchildren. (Ryley Edward Elliott and Olivia Lorraine Elliott.)

Phyllis had a great sense of humor and a positive attitude when things weren’t always sunshine and roses. She would always be there to support, offer advice, or just listen to family and friends- Definitely blessed with the “gift of gab.”

Phyllis is survived by her Husband, Tim; Her Daughter, Crystal; Her son, Corey; Son-in-law, Vaclav; Daughter-in-law, Jami; Grandson, Ryley; and Granddaughter, Olivia. The family would like to invite guests to Cobb and Penn on South FL Ave. in Lakeland on Saturday, February 28th from 12-6 to have a few drinks, laughs, and share memories of Phyllis. In lieu of flowers, her family wishes a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name for their continued research to cure this terrible condition. (donorservices.alz.org)
