Frances Ann Hopper, 86, formerly of Weiser, Idaho, died peacefully at her home in Emmett, surrounded by her daughters on February 4, 2026.
Ann was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on September 22, 1939, to Lloyd and Dorothy Dibble. The family moved to the Apple Valley area of Parma, Idaho in the early 1950s and Ann, her older brother Hank, and younger sister Sue all graduated from Parma High School. Ann attended NNC in Nampa for one year and then went to Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, Oklahoma where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. Ann married Walter J. Hopper while she was teaching in Midvale, Idaho and they were married in the old Parma Nazarene Church on August 10th, 1962. They had three daughters: Claudia, Cindy, and Cori. Ann primarily stayed home to raise her children, although she usually had another job as well, her favorite of which was at the Weiser Public Library. Ann played piano in church, taught Sunday school, and was active in many community and church activities including in her local Nazarene Missionary Society. She loved books and being with her family. Her greatest desire was always to follow Jesus and share his love with everyone she met. She was a loving wife, a devoted Mom and Grandma, as well as a sweet sister and friend. Ann was preceded in death by her husband Walter Hopper, her parents Lloyd and Dorothy Dibble, and her brother Charles Henry Dibble. She is survived by her daughters, Claudia Hudman (Curt) of Weiser, Cindy Erickson (Carl) of Midvale, and Cori Ward (Vernon) of Emmett; grandchildren Robert , Shane, Aaron, Chelsea, Dorothy, Reuben, Isaac and Annie, their spouses; twenty-two great-grandchildren; her sister Sue Siller (Karl) of Emmett, and special friend Dawn McGary (Doug) and son Dalton. Ann's daughters wish to give special thanks to the Horizon hospice team, especially Ann's nurse Cheryl, who showed great compassion and care during her last months. Services will be held at the Weiser Church of the Nazarene at 2:00 p.m. on February 21, 2026. Memorial donations may be made to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries.Donations

We Entrusted Frances Hopper's Care To
Thomason Funeral Home
For more than 100 years, the Thomason Funeral Home has worked to help the Weiser community heal after loss. We help families plan funerals, cremation services, and celebration of life services. Our story began in 1910 when Lloyd Northam opened the doors at the site now occupied by the current Weiser Elk’s Lodge. Since then, the business has had several names, partnerships, and owners. Among them was Dale Thomason, our namesake, who began working at the funeral home in the mid-1940s and purchased the home as a family business to run with his son. At Thomason, we focus on helping your family with personalized care. We do everything we can to provide professional, compassionate support to every family that trusts us with their funeral arrangements. Along with our sister location in Ontario, Oregon, we help Treasure Valley families connect, honor, and remember their loved ones....
