Lawrence “Larry” A. Rupprecht, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at Rainbow Hospice in Johnson Creek on January 29, 2026. He was 88 years old.
Larry was born on January 14, 1938, to Walter and Eleanora (Walaske) Rupprecht. He married Mary Louise Endl on May 30, 1959, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Jefferson. They were married for over 66 years.
He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1956 and started working at Carnation in Jefferson that same year. In 1959, he began at Ladish/Cargill where he worked for 42 years before retiring in 2001.
Larry was also a veteran, having served in the Army National Guard from 1955 to 1961. He was called up to Tacoma, Washington, during the Berlin Crisis from 1961-1962.
In his free time, he loved to bowl and play golf. He played at many courses throughout the country and around the world. He and Mary traveled extensively, visiting such places as Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Germany, Italy, England, the Dominican Republic, and many US states. He also volunteered, helping serve at the annual Jefferson County Dairy Breakfast and as a CCD teacher through St. John’s Catholic Church. He was a member and volunteer for the Knights of Columbus as well as a member of American Legion Post 238 in Safety Harbor, Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, his daughter, Brenda (Roger), his sons, Dale (Su) and Jerry, his four grandchildren, Adam, Allison, Alex, and Haley, and one grandpuppy, Badger. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Griffin, two brothers, Raymond and Robert, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Sister Celestine, Helen, Marge, and Mary, and brothers, William and Joseph, and one grandpuppy, Brutus.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM Noon Saturday, February 21 at St. John Baptist Catholic Church, 324 East North Street, Jefferson, WI 53549. Visitation will be at the Church, prior to Mass, from10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
The family would like to thank Kimberly, Pastor Steve, Laura, and Kathy at Rainbow Hospice and Visiting Angels for all their care, compassion, and support throughout his journey. Memorials can be made out to Rainbow Hospice.
