Alma, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, in Cocoa Beach, Florida at the age of 75. She lived a life marked by witty quips, spontaneity and a strong desire to do good for others.  

She pursued her passion for education by earning her teaching degree at Indiana University.   She taught physical education classes in Indiana Pennsylvania where she met her husband.  In 1978 she moved with him to Marcellus, New York. Her interest in physical fitness led her to join the Purple Dragons Karate Club and earn a Black Belt in Karate. Her love of warm climate drew her to Oahu where she taught physical education classes. During her time in Hawaii her innate desire to help others (Alma in Spanish means - soul / nourishing) was influenced by Reiki a Japanese healing technique. She studied and earned a Reiki Masters Certification.   

Alma’s capacity to help others was evident as she performed Reiki sessions, remembered friends, family, special occasions with hand crafted gifts and volunteered in her community. She leaves behind a legacy of service, love and a ZEST for LIVING that will continue to influence all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Chris Christensen, daughter Lisa (David) Schiller, granddaughter Addison and sister Bonnie (Dennis) Mogle, sister-in-law Debbie Wargo, cousin Ronald (Sharon) Kovaleski. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Frances Wargo Sr and brother Albert Wargo Jr.

Per Alma’s wishes no public service will be held.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Brevard Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
