Joe Lee Buckner went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 6, 2026. He was born in Vienna, VA on October 9, 1940 to the late R. W. Buckner and Louise McCraw Buckner. He was a pastor and missionary to the Deaf. He also worked as a houseparent a the Kentucky School for the Deaf and at Oneida Baptist Institute.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Webster Buckner.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Stevels of Berea, KY; his son, Kevin Buckner (Marion) of Searcy, AR; 7 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 2 brothers; 1 sister; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Chapel with Bob Buckner officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.
