Ms. Karen Lucille Chase, age 78, a resident of Auburndale went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center with family by her side. Ms. Chase was born January 20, 1948, in Winter Haven, Florida to Hal Fredrick & Barbara Marilyn (Waters) Chase. Karen was a lifetime resident of Polk County and graduated from Winter Haven High School. She was a retired Cafeteria Lady for Lake Alfred Elementary School in Lake Alfred. She attended with her family First Missionary Baptist Church in Auburndale. Karen enjoyed shopping, going to the beach, flower gardening and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters – Marcia Chase & Barbara Suzanne Chase and niece – Kimberly Chambers. Karen is survived by her loving & devoted family, daughter – Kara (Wally) Mock; 2 grandchildren – Grace Olivia Mock & Dylan Glynn Mock; 2 nephews – Craig Chambers & James (Lashonda) Kirkland and 2 nieces – Wendy (Brian) Deemer & Heather Johnson. A memorial service will be held 10:30 am Monday, February 16th at First Missionary Baptist Church, 406 Main Street, Auburndale. A private interment will take place at Lakeside Memorial Park in Winter Haven.
