Michael Ray Moore, 72, passed peacefully in his home on February 5th, 2026. Mike was born in Frankfort and grew up in Stamping Ground, KY, the son of John and Ethel Moore. He left home at 16 and later volunteered for the United States Air Force. He served 8 years in the USAF, including a deployment to Vietnam. This was followed by 23 years of service as a firefighter and paramedic for the city of Frankfort. He was in the first class of paramedics in Frankfort and reached the rank of Captain. During this period, he founded Moore’s Mobile Power Wash with his family.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Moore, to whom he was married for 48 years, his children and their wives, Nathan (Beth) Moore and Brett (Melanie) Moore, grandchild Alice Ragsdale, and his siblings Jeff, Jana, Jamie and Todd Moore.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Ethel Moore and his brother Johnny Moore.

Mike was an avid golfer and sports lover. His favorite team was his beloved University of Kentucky Wildcats. He was always involved in sports, from coaching basketball to umpiring and then coaching his two sons in Little League baseball.

Michael had a great affection for animals of all types. He was a loved member of whatever community he was a part of, and he will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held at Clark Legacy Center in Frankfort at 11:00 am Friday the 13th, with a service at noon and a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at https://t2t.org/donate/ or the Wounded Warrior Project at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org
