Allen Dale Owen, 68, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, surrounded by loved ones, after a long term illness.
Allen was born on December 27, 1957, in Hayward, California, to Alfred Arnold Owen and Patricia Grace (Rody) Owen. At the age of 17, Allen enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving for three years. He was honorably discharged as a Private First Class.
After his military service, Allen worked at the Morel Foundry in Seattle, following in the footsteps of his father and older brother, Ken. Along with their younger brother Mark, they carpooled daily from Tacoma to Seattle, reflecting Allen’s strong work ethic and deep family bonds.
Later, Allen developed a passion for painting and worked many years through the Painters Union, completing contractual work throughout the Seattle and Tacoma area. During this time, he remained in Tacoma, where he devoted himself to raising his children, Greg, Jeric, and Katrina. Allen retired from the Painters Union in the early 2000s.
In retirement, Allen met the love of his life, Kimberly White. Together, they shared 19 years filled with love, companionship, and laughter.
Allen was preceded in death by his son Gregory Scott Owen, his father Alfred Arnold Owen, and his mother Patricia Grace (Rody) Owen.
He is survived by his partner Kimberly White; his siblings Kenneth Owen (Deborah), Doug Owen (Allie), Mark Owen (Julie), JoEllen Redmond, Sharon Eckley (Jim), Paul Owen (Christina), and Timothy Owen (Brea); and his children Jeric Mason and Katrina (Davis) Liotti. Allen was a proud Papa to 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and a beloved Uncle Allen to many nieces and nephews.
A service for Allen with full military honors will be held on February 24, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery in Covington, Washington, followed by a remembrance gathering in Tacoma at the home where he was raised.
