Richard Milroy Webster died on February 2, 2026, at Pathways Hospice, in Fort Collins, CO. He was born to Melvin Gibson Webster and Margaret Milroy (Wooster) Webster on February 3, 1941.

 

He spent his early years in small towns in Western NY State and graduated from Webster Central High School, Webster, NY. He graduated from Colgate University in 1963. He began graduate studies in the Human Anatomy Department of the Medical Center at the State University of Ny in Buffalo. He completed requirements for his PhD in 1969. He joined the faculty of the Louisiana State University as a professor of anatomy.

 

In May of 1974 he resigned that position, answered a call to ministry and moved to Richmond, VA to attend Union Theological Seminary. Until his retirement in 2001 he served churches in Hopewell, VA, Lexington, KY, Wausau, WI, Raleigh, NC, Diamondhead, MS, and Bedford, NH. He was the project director of a Lily Foundation Grant to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A) in Louisville, KY. In 2001, he and Margaret L. Anderson were married and they lived in Loveland, CO until his death.

 

Dick is survived by his children, Cathy McWhirt, New York City, her husband Allen, and son David Webster of Nashville, TN and stepchildren, Douglas Anderson and his wife Dixie of Loveland, CO, Kistin Anderson of Seattle, WA and sister Susan Nimeh and husband Michael. His grandchildren are Emma, Maggie and Hank McWhirt and stepchildren Holly Robbins and Lauren Billings. He has two step great grandchildren.
