"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."

Charles Victor Kirby Jr age 69, went home to be with the Lord on February 9, 2026 in his hometown of Warner Robins, Georgia, surrounded by the love of his family. A private graveside service for immediate family will be held Friday, February 13, 2026, 2:00 PM at Parkway Memorial Gardens. Rev. Mike Slade will officiate the service.
Born on August 30, 1956 in Swainsboro, Georgia to Charles Victor Kirby, Sr. and Carolyn (Claxton) Kirby. Charles was the first born of seven children and the apple of his parent’s eye. In 1959, the family moved to the booming town of Warner Robins to further his daddy’s construction business. As a child, Charlie would love riding his bike, playing with his toys, and pretending to be a mechanic when they were broken. He loved watching his favorite cowboy show Gunsmoke, where he had his cowboy costume with new boots, hat, and toy pistol that he had to wear everyday. At age 12, he asked Jesus to come into his heart where he accepted Him to be his Lord and Savior at Warner Hills Baptist Church next-door to their house. During these years, Charles worked with his daddy on the construction job, learning his Daddy’s trade. He was a fifth generation master carpenter for forty-plus years.
After retiring at 65, he went back to his hobbies he loved as a boy. Charles was a self-taught musician, playing the piano and he loved his guitar. He also enjoyed fishing and anything to do with the outdoors, and tinkering on cars. In the last five years of his life, he enjoyed reading his Bible and talking about the Lord with his family. The do's and don’ts of life and reminder of life’s choices and consequences outside of the Lord. He loved calling his 89 year old mother to check on her daily, to tell her he loved her, and talk about the Braves and Bulldogs. He often thanked her for his Godly raising and how much he missed his Daddy. During these years, he was diagnosed with cancer. While battling cancer, he became closer to his first love, his Heavenly Father. On the last day of his life on earth, he told his Mama that he was going to see his Daddy and the Lord who saved him from all of his sins from long ago. For her to rejoice for there is no more pain and sorrow there, and not to worry. That he will see all that accepted the Lord into their heart again one day. Charles will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, strong work ethic, and the love he shared so freely with others. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children: Victoria Kirby Johnson (Alan), Charles V. Kirby III, and April Kirby Crockett (Pletz); grandchildren: Austin Martin, Meghan Hill, Mariah McDaniel (Daemon), Travis Smith, Lavan Johnson, Alexia Johnson, Brylee Johnson, Aubrielle Johnson, Lindsay Johnson, Breyanna Logel (Victor), Byron McCrary, Brianna Crockett, Meiabella Crockett, Blake Kirby (Lannah), and Charlee Kirby; great-grandchild Avery McDaniel; his mother, Carolyn Claxton Kirby; six siblings: Rida Aguila (Rafael), David Kirby, Valeria Taunton (Russ), Mary Anne Rouse (Mike), Shellie Brown (Bobby), and Charlene Borgesen (Adam); many nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles Victor Kirby, Sr., and his nephew, Jonathon Taunton.
