Ida, born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tacoma in 1943 to Edith and Louis Trutman. Grew up in South Tacoma with siblings Rosie, George and Louie. After Graduating High School from St. Leos, Ida worked at the B & I meeting two very special males in her life Duane and Ivan the gorilla. While Ivan stayed at the B&I Ida and Duane were married on January 8th, 1966. In 1969 they had their 1st child Larry (Dori) and moved from Tacoma to Vancouver WA. Then in 1972 they had their 2nd child Angela (Rocko) and moved back near Tacoma to Fircrest. For the next 20 plus years Idas's house was full of kids, dogs, cats and a rabbit or two. Ida was very active with her kid's schools, winning the Golden Apple award for all of her volunteer work. She enjoyed being part of a bowling league, and loved her volunteer work at St. Charles in the food bank, teaching Sunday School and helping out by bringing food to the Parish center for funerals. She loved to bake, the cookie jar was never left empty.  After her kids had grown Ida went back to work at the local Hallmark store in Fircrest. Ida and Duane were avid Campers and travelers enjoying many trips with their grandchildren Corey, Tim, Jacob and Megan and later picking up two bonus grandkids Tabitha and Thomas along with making many trips across the United States to visit friends and go on many "adventures" as Ida and Duane would call it. Ida and Duane Enjoyed 51 years of marriage before Duane left us in 2017. Ida spent the remaining years with many family and friends and even got to welcome her great grand Daughter Kamber into her life. Ida passed away Feb 7th, 2026 surrounded by her family and friends.
