James W Thompson, 76, of Longmont CO passed away on Jan 30, 2026.He battled cancer for 8 years and never quit. Jim was born in Omaha NE on May 4th, 1949, to James Thompson Sr. and Genevieve (Miller).He grew up in NE, a Cornhusker fan always! Jim met his forever girl in High School in Elkhorn, NE, and married Patricia (Kelly) onFebruary 22, 1969. They moved to Longmont CO, and raised two wonderful sons, Jim andJeff. Jim was a meat cutter, drove a crane truck, and managed the Co-op propane division in Mead.He enjoyed activities that always included his wife and sons: riding motorcycles, hunting,fishing, trapshooting, metal detecting, playing pool, and building a cabin in the mountains ofWyoming. He is survived by his wife Pat of 57 years, son James (Tammy), son Jeffrey (fiancé Schellie),grandson Jeremy Schlagel, granddaughters Jessica Brunscheen (Jon) and TylerThompson (fiancé Corey) and three great-grandchildren: Carter, Charlie, and Willow, also,many family and friends!
