With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vance Morgan Edens III, age 79, who went home to be with the Lord on February 8, 2026.
Vance was born on December 23, 1946, in Dillon, South Carolina, to the late Vance Morgan Edens II and Margaret Edens.
He proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army, working as a Military Police Officer, and later continued his service in the Army National Guard. His military career spanned a remarkable 25 years of honorable service. He was deeply proud of his time in uniform and the brothers he served alongside.
Vance was a man who loved life’s simple joys. He enjoyed golfing, watching football, and was a devoted Clemson fan — he truly loved his Tigers. Whether cheering on his team or spending time with family, he found happiness in the moments that mattered most.
Above all, Vance was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Edens; his daughter, Sally Grubb, and her husband, Edward Grubb; his cherished grandson, Wesley T. Blumenburg his girlfriend Samantha Medved; his brothers, David Edens and wife Terry Edens, and John Mark Edens and wife Kim Edens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vance Morgan Edens II and Margaret Edens, and by his beloved son, Vance M. Edens IIII.
Vance will be remembered for his strength, his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and the love he gave so freely. Though he may be gone from our sight, he will forever live on in our hearts.

A Special Message from His Daughter
Daddy,I will forever be your little girl. You were my hero, my protector, and my greatest example of strength and love. Thank you for the sacrifices you made for our family and for this country. I am so proud to call you my father.
I will miss your voice, your stories, and the way you always made me feel safe no matter how old I was. My heart is broken, but I find comfort knowing you are at peace.
Until I see you again, I will carry your love with me every day. I love you always and forever.
Your baby girl,Sally
