Mr. Norman MacLeod, Jr., 58, of Amsterdam, died February 9, 2026 at his home after a long illness.He was born April 13, 1967 in Syracuse, New York, he was son of Helen Hojohn Voelker who survives and the late Norman MacLeod Sr. He attended the Amsterdam High School and after worked at Quandt's Distribution Center in Amsterdam for a number of years and later he was employed by Wohlberg Electric in Albany until he retired in 2018 due to ill health. Norman enjoyed camping, fishing and working on and around his home. He loved spending time with his family. On September 2, 1989 he married the former Mira Czaplicki. Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Nicholas MacLeod of Amsterdam , his sister Amber MacLeod of Gloversville, a sister, Michelle Dubrey of Amsterdam, a sister-in-law, Barbara Armer of Amsterdam, a brother-in-law, Andrew Czaplicki of Amsterdam, three grandchildren, Alyssa, Ayden and Cheyenne, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Norman was predeceased by his sister Tracy Carpenter.It was Norman request that there be no funeral services.
