Calvin Ray “Cal” Schreiner, born in 1957 in Fort Morgan, Colorado, passed away February 5, 2026, in Loveland, Colorado.
Cal built a life grounded in hard work, faith, family, and a deep love of the outdoors. He spent his career in construction, beginning with interstate interchange projects before moving into commercial roofing systems and facility maintenance. In this work, he helped maintain and protect buildings across large real estate portfolios, leaving a lasting mark on the structures people rely on every day.
Outside of work, Cal was known for his generosity and steady willingness to help friends, family, and anyone who needed a hand. He gave his time as a volunteer with Colorado Youth Outdoors, sharing his love of nature and mentorship with younger generations. Hunting and fishing were lifelong passions, and some of his most valued time was spent outdoors with his boys, passing along skills, stories, and traditions.
Cal also loved to sing and was a devoted Catholic, sharing a deep and abiding faith with his wife, Lora. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, living his faith through service, fellowship, and charity. His faith gave him strength and guided his love and care for his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Lora Schreiner; his sons, Tyler Schreiner and wife Brooke, and Benjamin Schreiner and partner Jason; and his granddaughter, Whitney. He is also survived by his brothers, Bill (Jessica), Larry (Susan), and Merlin (Sherry), and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Betty Schreiner, and his younger brother, Gary.
A viewing will be held from 4:30–7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, at Viegut Funeral Home in Loveland, Colorado, with a Rosary from 5:00–5:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Mead, Colorado.
Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to gather from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at Senor Raphael’s at the Mexican Inn in Loveland, where all are welcome to gather, visit, and share memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Colorado Youth Outdoors, in honor of Cal’s love of sharing the outdoors with future generations, or to the Capuchin Franciscan Friars, 3613 Wyandot St., Denver, CO 80211, reflecting his deep Catholic faith.
