Suzanne Gallet De Saint Aurin, 96, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 10, 2026.
Suzanne was born January 30, 1930, to Dr. Emile and Lise Porry in Fort-De-France, Martinique, F.W.I., and in 1949, she married her love of her life, Jacques Gallet De Saint Aurin (deceased in 2008). Together, they had ten children but lost two shortly after their birth. In 1965, the family immigrated to the United States (Dania Beach, FL) with their 8 children in order to enable them to earn college degrees; this goal was accomplished in 1984.
Suzanne was a devoted and supportive wife, as well as a strong and courageous woman who overcame sickness as a child and then later sacrificed family, friends and stability in Martinique for the education and success of her children. At the age of 3 years, Suzanne had almost died of pneumonia, measles and whooping cough. At the time, there was no penicillin, and her father, a doctor who had nothing to save her life prayed and asked the Blessed Virgin Mary to intercede. If Suzanne survived, he promised that she would wear blue and white clothing in Mary’s honor until the age of 7 years old; mercifully, this promise was fulfilled. She also suffered from asthma during her childhood, which required her to be homeschooled until the age of 11 years old. Her health improved after her marriage and as she continued to have children.
Suzanne had an enormous love for God, life, her family and everyone she met. She had an infectious smile that opened people’s hearts, making them feel loved and welcomed. She loved to travel and visit different countries, but mostly she treasured family time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who all called her Granny. Suzanne’s most important part of her life was her Catholic faith. Her goal was to have good and helpful children with a strong Christian faith. She faithfully attended Mass until her health deteriorated. She was an avid reader, a sharp bridge and card player, and also volunteered in different church groups and organizations to help individuals in need.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jacques, daughters Denise and Marie-Cecile, parents Emile and Lise, siblings Paul, Nadette, Denise, Francois and Madeline, and many other family and friends; all who are now celebrating in heaven with her.
Suzanne is survived by her children (spouses) Nicole, Christiane, Alain (Sandy), Yves (Lisa), Bertrand (Anne), Marc (Monica), André (Lisa), and Florence (Martin); 24 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express gratitude and great appreciation to the staff at The Fountains of Melbourne and at Vitas Healthcare Hospice. Their gentle and dedicated care of her with love and kindness will always be gratefully remembered.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 9:00 am at Beach Funeral Homes, 1689 S. Patrick Drive, Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. A funeral service and Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5330 Babcock St. NE, Palm Bay, Florida.
