Obituary for Denward "Denny" Allen Evans

Denward "Denny" Allen Evans, born on October 5, 1940, in South Bend, Washington, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, in Olympia, Washington. He is remembered as a devoted family man and a pillar of his community, whose kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A proud graduate of Raymond High School, Denny began a diverse career that spanned several industries. His first job at 16 was working for his father, Homer, at his Mobil Service Station after school.  He worked for PUD #2 as a meter reader,  a lineman, a front office support, and finished as the Plant Accountant. After his retirement,  his tireless work ethic was evident in every endeavor he undertook. From being a realtor for Davis Realty, a Napa Auto Parts driver, the Pacific County Fair Manager, a bottle stocker for Pepsi,  Stoller's Mortuary Assistant, a lab driver for LabCorp, a greeter for WalMart and a stocker at Home Depot.  His commitment extended beyond the workplace; he served his country in the Army from 1960 to 1962, stationed in France and at Fort Lewis.

In addition to his professional achievements, Denny's passion for community service knew no bounds. He was deeply involved with the 4-H Club, Little League, Boy Scouts, First Baptist Church, and Friends of the Pacific County Fair. Through his woodworking and handyman skills, he not only created treasured items for friends and family but also actively raised funds for various charities. His dedication to the Raymond First Baptist Church, the VFW 968, and the Lions Club showcased his willingness to help others.

Denny was married to Joyce White on July 14, 1962, and together they raised a loving family. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his son, Brian; his daughter, Melanie; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Rebecca Evans; his brother Richard Evans; his sister Donna (Evans) Pederson; his half-sister, Mickey Parker; and his aunt Esther Mc'Ardle.

A celebration of Denny’s life will be held on February 19, 2026, at the First Baptist Church, located at 913 Duryea Street, Raymond, WA, at 11 a.m. Another service will take place on February 21, 2026, at Colonial Inn, located at 3730 14th Ave SE, Olympia, WA, at 2 p.m.

Family and friends are encouraged to bring any canes or walking sticks crafted by Denny to honor his legacy.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Raymond First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, the Colonial Inn Employee Fund, or a charity of your choice.

Denny Evans will be remembered not just for his many achievements but for his unwavering kindness, loyalty, and generosity. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
