Linda B. Marshall of Kingsport went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 14, 2026. She was born in Kingsport to the late Leroy and Pauline (Fugate) Burrell. Mrs. Marshall was a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and East Tennessee State University. She retired after 32 years from Sullivan County Department of Education as a former teacher at Arcadia Elementary and Kingsley Elementary Schools.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading, studying the Bible, traveling, and visiting the historical history of other parts of our country. After her retirement, she and her husband visited all 50 states.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, Clarence; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Amy Marshall, Chad and Britt Marshall, Justin and Kendra Marshall; grandchildren, Mackenzie Walls and husband Carson, Braden, Brylee, Claire, Lily, Blaine, and Caden Marshall; two brothers and sisters-in-law; Jerry and Evelyn Burrell, Randy and Tammie Burrell; along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Paul Warrick officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Oak Hill Memorial Park at 800 Truxton Drive, Kingsport in the Garden of the Last Supper. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
Memorial contributions can be made at St. Jude's Children’s research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriners Hospitals for Children at 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
