Brimfield- Regina R. Wright (Dexter), born July 10, 1954, in Northampton, Massachusetts passed away Tuesday February 10, 2026, at the age of 71, surrounded by loved ones.
She was the beloved daughter to the late Richard and Ruth Dexter (Cleveland). Regina is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Wright and her life partner, David Tolson along with her four grandchildren Benjamin, Hailey, Brookelynn and Olivia Lamica. She is also remembered by her two sisters, Marlene Rule and her husband Robert, and Deanna Wiseman and her brother Richard Dexter ll (Richie) and his wife Susan. Her memory will be cherished by her nieces and nephews and their families.
Regina graduated from Belchertown High School in 1972. After high school, she pursued a dedicated and much loved career as a special education paraprofessional. Through the years she enjoyed volunteering to assist with events such as the Special Olympics. Regina devoted her life to supporting and enriching the lives of others.
Regina’s greatest joy came from being a Mother and eventually a Grandmother. She was known for planning the best parties and firmly believed that things should be homemade. Often spending hours decorating elaborate cakes for all occasions and planning party games and scavenger hunts. Being an active role in her daughter’s life was extremely important to Regina, she was always the first to volunteer, from girl scout leader to softball coach and so much more.
Regina had a passion for camping, first in a tent and eventually in an RV. She traveled all over the Northeast to give her daughter so many memorable experiences. She even once drove all the way to Florida with a pop-up camper in tow with her daughter and niece to take them to Disney. As she got older she especially enjoyed her camp up in Maine. She also enjoyed many traveling adventures and casino trips with her partner. She was a talented seamstress and had a knack for crafting.
She also enjoyed playing on card leagues as well as playing games with family and friends, especially scrabble!
Regina was a devoted Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Life Partner and Friend. Her kind, compassionate, beautiful soul will be cherished by all she has touched.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 10am-12pm, with a celebration of life to follow at 12pm at Beers & Story Funeral Home in Belchertown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Regina’s memory can be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund.
