Celebrating the Life of Teresa Trunzo

A Journey of Service, Dedication, and Love

Early Life and Family

Teresa Trunzo was born on April 10, 1969, in Topeka, Kansas. She was the first child of Captain and Mrs. Vincent Eugene Trunzo, and the cherished first granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Derald K. McManus, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Trunzo. Teresa was also the beloved niece to many wonderful aunts and uncles, establishing deep family roots from the very beginning.

Childhood and Education

In 1971, Teresa moved with her parents to Altamonte Springs, Florida. A year later, she welcomed her younger brother, Eugene Paul Trunzo, becoming a caring big sister. Teresa’s formative years were spent attending Lake Orienta Elementary, Milwee Middle School, and Lyman High School. She actively participated in church at St. Mary Magdeline, where she received her childhood sacraments, laying a foundation of faith that would guide her throughout her life.

Teresa’s early life was filled with family activities, including many hours spent with her father maintaining and cleaning their family cars, a pastime she would continue to enjoy for years to come. She was a Girl Scout, excelled academically, and developed a keen interest in mathematics. In high school, Teresa became President of the National Honor Society, volunteered as a Candy Striper, and worked summers delivering pharmacy orders to care areas at Florida Hospital/Advent Health Hospital on East Rollins.

Academic Achievements and Early Career

Teresa graduated from Lyman High School in 1987 with an Academic Degree. Following her father’s footsteps, she moved to Gainesville, Florida, earning the affectionate title of "Gator Girl." She graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Finance four years later. After her graduation, Teresa relocated to Melbourne, Florida, joining her parents and extended family. In 1991, she began her professional journey at Holmes Regional Hospital (now Health First) in the accounts payable department.

While working full-time, Teresa pursued further education, enrolling in night school at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. She graduated with a degree in Accounting in 1996 and went on to join the Finance Department at Health First, holding the title of Financial Planning Analyst.

Personal Interests and Accomplishments

Teresa’s passion for cars was evident throughout her life. She purchased her first red Super Sports Camaro, followed by a navy blue SS Camaro in 1999, joining the Camaro club. In 2000, she built and purchased her home in Oceanside Village, establishing her own space and independence. Her love for cars continued as her father acquired a 30th Anniversary Camaro and, in 2003, a 50th Anniversary Corvette. Together, Teresa and her father participated in car shows, earning trophies and sharing joyful moments.

Faith, Community Service, and Resilience

Teresa’s commitment to her faith was unwavering. She trained to become an Extraordinary Minister to the Blessed Sacrament, serving at many Masses and always offering a beautiful smile while serving the Lord. In 2013, she took a brief sabbatical from work but soon returned as a temporary employee in the Finance Department at Indian River Hospital.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Teresa was in Orlando with her parents. It was during this challenging time that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. With remarkable strength, she underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatments, bravely facing each challenge with determination.

Final Years and Legacy

After enduring various health issues, Teresa entered into Our Lord's arms on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Her life was defined by service, dedication, and love—for her family, community, and faith. Teresa’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched, remembered for her compassion, perseverance, and unwavering spirit.

Conclusion

Teresa Trunzo’s journey was a testament to the power of family, faith, and resilience. Her contributions to her community, professional achievements, and personal passions continue to inspire those who knew her. May her memory be a blessing and her life a guiding light for all.
