Robert “Bob” McGrath, 83, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026.
Bob was born on October 2, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He built a successful career as a commercial real estate broker, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike through his integrity, work ethic, and genuine care for others.
Beyond his professional life, Bob found his greatest joy in time spent with family and friends. An avid sailor and fisherman, he loved being on the water and embracing the simple pleasures of life. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and cherished watching them play sports and grow.
Bob was known for his warm spirit, generosity, and open heart. A true friend to many, his door was always open, and he welcomed visitors for conversation, laughter, and connection. When he wasn’t hosting friends, he could often be found in the kitchen, cooking up something delicious for those he loved.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jan McGrath; his daughter, Megan McGrath; and his son, Patrick McGrath. Also, Bob’s sister, Kathy Witt, husband Dennis and children Brian Witt and Diana Stockfisch.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Hankins & Whittington, located at 1111 East Boulevard, Charlotte, North Carolina.
Bob’s kindness, generosity, and love for life will be deeply missed. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the family he cherished.
