Vincent “Vince” Florio, 77, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, at the Sun City Center Hospice House, with his beloved wife of 42 years, Carolyn, by his side. Surrounded by love in his final moments, Vince left this world the same way he lived in it—with quiet strength, dignity, and grace.

Born on January 30, 1949, to Joseph and Esther Florio, Vince grew up with a strong sense of family, faith, and determination. He graduated as Valedictorian of Brooklyn Automotive High School and was honored with a John F. Kennedy Citizenship Award—early signs of the dedication and excellence that would define his life.

After high school, Vince proudly served his country in the United States Navy, with stations in the Azores, Portugal, and Washington, D.C. His time in the service reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment—qualities that remained with him throughout his life.

Following his honorable discharge, Vince built a long and successful career in the food service industry. For the last 20 years of his professional life, he served as a Director with Dunkin’ Donuts, where his leadership, integrity, and warm personality earned him the respect and affection of colleagues and friends alike.

Before settling in Sun City Center 10 years ago, Vince made homes in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Wherever he lived, he built lasting friendships and left a positive mark on everyone he met. Vince was a devoted and loving husband, a cherished brother, and a proud uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He had a gift for making others feel valued—always ready with a welcoming smile, a kind word, or a helping hand. His quiet generosity and steady presence were a source of comfort and strength to his family.

He is survived by his siblings, Janet Sagonas (Quinto) and Frances Florio; his in-laws, Thomas Brady (Gloria) and Joan Barter (Andrew); and his many nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and great-niece, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Rose Florio.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, at 9:00 a.m. at Sun City Center Funeral Home, followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. A service with military honors will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, c/o Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 702 Valley Forge Blvd., Sun City Center, FL 33573.

Vince’s life was defined not only by his accomplishments, but by his kindness, humility, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always held close in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
