Elmer Comfort, 72, passed away on January 22, 2026. He was born on October 23, 1953. Elmer lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty to his family, and love for the simple things that mattered most.

Elmer proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his military service, he built a career working in drywall, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to providing for his family.

Above all else, Elmer was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Savannah Comfort and Christopher Comfort; his son-in-law, Christian Santiago; and his beloved grandchildren, Sabrina Santiago and Ariana Santiago, who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister, Peggy Johns.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Charles Comfort, Roy Comfort, Jeremy Comfort, and his sister, Kathy Ann.

Elmer loved fishing and cherished the time he spent outdoors. He was a firm believer that family always came first, a value he lived by every day. He was also a proud member of the Moose Lodge community.

Elmer will be remembered as a loving father, proud grandfather, dedicated veteran, and a man who showed his love through actions. HIs dedication to hard work, and unwavering presence for the people he cared about most. His memory will live on through his family and all who were lucky enough to know him.

A memorial service will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Belleview on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM-12:00PM with a committal service immediately following at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at 1:30PM.
