Mary Louise (Lou) Denzien, 81, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, surrounded by the family she cherished above all else.

Her Life and Journey

Born on February 3, 1944, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to William and Mabel (Rowell) Ross, Mary grew up in the Midwest and graduated from Wauwatosa West High School.

On February 8, 1964, she married the love of her life, James Denzien Sr. For the next 21 years, Mary served as the steadfast heart of the home, faithfully following Jim across the country during his career as a Navy submariner. Together, they shared nearly 62 years of devotion, building a life defined by loyalty and a "steady helm" through every move.

Her Passions

Mary was known for her warmth and her unique zest for life. She had a deep affection for dolphins and ladybugs, and she was a culinary adventurer who was never afraid to try a new dish. An avid "thrifter," she could often be found scouring shops for anything in her favorite color—red. Whether she was listening to Neil Diamond or watching the playful banter between her children and grandchildren during football season, Mary’s greatest joy was simply being present with her "best family."

Family and Legacy

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jane.

Her legacy lives on through her husband, Jim; her three sons, Bill (Steve) of Georgia, James Jr. (Carla) of Florida, and Andrew (Deane) of California. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who will dearly miss her spirit.
