Joseph Caetano passed away, surrounded by love and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Joseph was preceded in death by his devoted wife Nair Caetano. She passed in 2014 . Together, they shared a life rooted in love, commitment, and family .In his younger years, he served his country as a proud Marine and was a Police Officer in Westchester county New York.

 

Joseph held a seat as chairman of the Florida Board of Cosmetology and was a Tampa City Council member from 2007 to 2011.  District 7 . Using his God Given Talents he was sometimes referred to as a “Founding Father” of New Tampa and was passionate about its care and development .He owned and operated the Landmark Bostonian Hair Studios from 1987 to 2008.

 

He was a devoted husband, father, partner, and friend, whose life was defined by his strong presence, kindness, and dedication to his role as a fearless businessman and his legendary leadership as a community pillar. He instilled a dedicated work ethic to his daughters. 

 

He loved strolling through Publix or Home Depot saying hello to everyone he met.

 

He is survived by his loving daughters Jacqueline Caetano and Caron Dombroski and his son-in-law Paul Dombroski .

 

Joseph also leaves behind his devoted partner, Jill Barnes who brought Love ,happiness and companionship to his later years and her daughters, Amber and Lacey. He will also be missed by his little dog Sanibel.

 

Romans 10:9 if you declare with your mouth “Jesus is Lord “and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

 

A Visitation is scheduled on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 9:00am with the Funeral Mass starting at 10:00am at St Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9724 Cross Creek Blvd, Tampa, Florida 33647.  Interment will follow at 1:30pm at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida  33513.
