Betty Arlene Gutierrez, 96, of Ione, California passed away February 15, 2026 in San Andreas, California. She was born on April 7, 1929 in Scobey Montana to Frederick and Fern (Brown) Bird. Betty is preceded in death by: Frank Gutierrez (Husband), Willis (Bill) Bird (Brother), Johni Lingron (Sister) , Andy Bonham (Son in Law), Tammy Goddard (Daughter), Heather Short (Granddaughter), Colene Bonham (Granddaughter), Bengie Herrera (Grandson), David Goddard (Grandson). Betty is survived by: Terry Bonham (Daughter); Valley Springs. Tim Lamb (Son); Valley Springs, Alene Martello (Daughter); Valley Springs. Victoria Lingron (Daughter); Santa Rosa. Becky Trujillo (Daughter), NM. Deneece Lamb (Daughter); Valley Springs. Mark Romero (Son); Mountain Ranch and David Lingron (Brother), 14 Grandchildren, 35 Great Grandchildren, 13 1/2 Great Great Grandchildren. Betty lived her life with a bold personality and a suitcase that was always half packed. She found joy in the open road, traveling far and wide in the motor home. Whether it was camping with family or sitting back casting a line, Betty took pride in living her life boldly and unapologetically. Throughout her life she journeyed from place to place finding a new line of work, from working as a cook and a waitress, owning a trucking business with her husband Frank, and even participating in war efforts working at Mare Island amongst other occupations. Betty rarely missed a chance to listen to music and go dancing. She was known for her skill with a rifle, ability to make a full course meal out of thin air, her captivating beauty and for her fondness for a day out at the casino. She loved animals deeply, especially dogs of which she had many. Above all Betty will be remembered for her independence, endless stories, her resilience, and the extensive and beautiful family that she built. She will be missed dearly and forever remembered.
