Linda Kay Felte, 78, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away on February 16, 2026, at the Center at Centerplace under hospice care, surrounded by her loving family.
Linda was born on August 28, 1947, in Greeley, Colorado, to Robert “Bob” and Dorothy “Dottie” (Stoltz) Love. She grew up on a farm near LaSalle and graduated from Valley High School in 1965. She went on to attend the University of Northern Colorado, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1971, followed by a Master’s degree in Special Education.
Linda began her teaching career in Holyoke, Colorado and later taught in Florence, Colorado. In 1981, she married Jerry Felte in Windsor. Their love story began when Linda’s grandparents lived next door to Jerry, and her grandmother happily played matchmaker. What started as a neighborly introduction quickly became a lifelong love. Following their marriage, she continued working in education, primarily in Greeley, serving as a special education teaching assistant. She had a truly caring heart and a natural gift for helping others feel supported, valued, and understood.
While Linda loved teaching, her greatest joy was caring for her family. She cherished being a homemaker and mother, creating a warm and welcoming home. Her caring spirit extended beyond her own family — she was the kind of person who quietly showed up, offered help, and put others first. Later in life, she especially treasured time with her grandchildren, Payton and Easton.
Linda’s steady presence, gentle nature, and caring heart will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy “Dottie” Love; her devoted husband, Jerry Felte; her daughter, Kendra Miller (Ryan); her son, David Felte; her brother, John Love (Helen); and her beloved grandchildren, Payton and Easton Miller.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert “Bob” Love; her brother, Patrick Love; and her sister, Lee Ann Love.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 15 at 3:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, 1321 9th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone or the Alzheimer’s Association.
