On Friday, February 9, 2026, Claudina M. Engle passed away at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her family. Claudina was born October 30, 1937, in Nyssa, Oregon, and was the youngest child of Chat and Claudia Graves. After the loss of her father, Claudina and her mother moved to Fruitland, Idaho, where her mother purchased a farm. It was there that Claudina learned her lifelong skills in baking, cooking, and sewing, and developed her love of animals.
Claudina met Robert “Bob” Engle at church; they fell in love and married on May 26, 1954. They had two children, Robert “Mike” and Tammy. In 1957, they moved to Boise, Idaho, where they raised their children and created a wonderful life together.
Claudina was a diligent worker with a natural gift for helping people. She worked for Idaho Barber and Beauty for many years before becoming a real estate agent. Her hard work and genuine care for others enabled her to build a successful real estate career and eventually become a broker. She was a woman of many talents and hobbies who loved a good practical joke. Claudina was a gifted seamstress, baked the best biscotti, and enjoyed painting ceramic figures.
An incredible hostess, she constantly welcomed people into her home for coffee, meals, and games. This was especially true for her family, as she often hosted grandchildren and great-grandchildren for sleepovers, crafts, and helping with chores around the farm. She was a familiar face in the stands at football games, soccer matches, and wrestling duals, always cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Claudina leaves behind a legacy of hospitality, strength, humor, and deep devotion to her family.
Claudina is survived by her daughter, Tammy Morehouse (Scott); seven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her husband, Bob; her son, Mike; her granddaughter, Jennifer Engle Kingman; and her great-granddaughter, Hannah Rickerl.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors on the 5th floor of St. Luke’s Meridian, Keystone Hospice, and ComForCare Home Care for their compassionate support and care for Claudina and her family.
