Kaiden Justin Raimund Martinez, born October 28, 2010, passed unexpectedly on February 19, 2026.
In September 2024, Kaiden was diagnosed with Desmoplakin-related Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy (DSP cardiomyopathy) following a myocarditis episode. Over the next year, he underwent several cardiac procedures, including placement of a loop recorder, implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD), and pacemaker. Despite these challenges, Kaiden returned to his normal life after each hospital stay, continuing to do the things he loved with the same energy, strength, and positivity that defined him.
Kaiden was a good student, a talented athlete, and a son deeply loved by his family. He found joy in the simple things- fishing, being outdoors, and any kind of adventure that meant exploring with a fishing pole in hand. He had a natural connection to music and an exceptional talent for beatboxing, able to hear rhythm and recreate it in a way that amazed everyone around him.
Those who knew Kaiden often described him as an old soul. He carried a quiet confidence and understanding beyond his years. Humble and kind, he never needed attention or recognition. He had a way of making people feel comfortable and valued from the moment they met him. Even when facing difficult moments, Kaiden remained focused on others, offering encouragement and light wherever he went.
He was loyal, genuine, and deeply caring- the kind of friend, brother, and son whose presence made people feel better simply by being around him. Kaiden lived fully, loved deeply, and left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Kaiden is survived by his father, Adrian Martinez; his grandparents Casey and Marie Despain; his great-grandmother Mary Kathryn Villa; and his uncles Levi Martinez, Furious Despain, and Colby Hickman and Paisley.
On his mother Myriah Jones’ side, he is survived by his mother, Myriah Jones, and stepfather Derek Jones; his siblings Nevaeh, Delvin, Dreyson, and Davina Jones; his grandmother Grace Gramm; grandparents Trevor and Michelle Bishop, Jeff and Amy Jones, and Carlos and Tonja Young.
Kaiden’s memory will live on through the countless lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.
