David Lyle Beeman, 74 years young, passed away peacefully on 24 February 2026 at home, in Caldwell, Idaho.

Dave was born on 15 April 1951, in Washington D.C., and moved to Oregon, where he graduated from Lake Oswego High School, before continuing his education at Oregon State University (Go Beavs), graduating in 1970 (Sigma Chi) and later went on to receive his master’s degree from the University of Southern California.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, dedicating 24 years (and change).

Through steadfast commitment, exceptional leadership, and unwavering integrity, he earned the rank of Lieutenant Colonel before retiring with honorable service to his country from active duty. His military career reflected the deep sense of duty and discipline that defined his life.

Following his distinguished service, Dave continued his commitment to public service with the Clark County Sheriff's Office in Vancouver, Washington, where he served his community with the same dedication and strength of character.

Dave embraced life fully and found joy in many pursuits. While in high school he was a lightweight wrestler earning recognition. Rugby became his game while in the Marine Corps. playing in tournaments at bases both in the U.S. as well as overseas. He was an avid reader, enjoyed tending to his garden, and treasured the time spent fly fishing. Whether casting a line on a quiet river or immersed in a good book, he found peace in nature and in a lifetime of learning.

He leaves behind a loving family: his devoted wife, Kimberly Ramos-Beeman; his children, Bryan (Nickey) Beeman, Kevin Beeman, and Jennifer (Mitch) Colleen. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren, one great-grandson, and a great-granddaughter on the way. His family was his greatest accomplishment and the center of his world.

Viewing services were held on 27 February 2026, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, Idaho. Dave will be laid to rest with full military honors at Willamette National Cemetery, Happy Valley, Oregon.

Most importantly, Dave will be remembered for his caring spirit, compassion, generosity, sense of humor, snappy comebacks and intelligence. He had a remarkable way of making everyone feel valued and supported. Above all, he will be remembered for his endless love for his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched and in the love he so freely gave. (Bombay & Till Valhalla)
