Bruce Jackson passed away on January 30, 2026. Known as the “cool uncle,” Bruce brought laughter and light wherever he went. He shared a playful spirit with family and friends, loved basketball, and was well known in his North Portland community. His generous heart, confident style, and joyful personality made him a beloved presence to all who knew him.
Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Charlie Vernon Spires; father Herbert Lee Spires; sisters Cholletta White, Monica Jackson, and Linda Gunn; and nephews Hurleen Bain, Christian Morrison, and Phellipe Jackson.
He is survived by his spouse, Diane Jackson-Beck; children Bethany and Brittany Jackson; siblings Hazel Grundy, Julius Jackson, Journna Pedersen, and Herbert Spires Jr.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
