Hubert Otto Ocamb, aged 94, of Nokomis, Florida, passed away on February 6, 2026. He was born on May 8, 1931, in Erie, Pennsylvania to John and Charlotte Ocamb.
Hub, as his friends called him, grew up during the Great Depression, a period marked by significant financial hardship for his family. These experiences influenced Hub’s perspective on life and served as motivation for his subsequent achievements.
A family friend, impressed by Hub's attitude and outlook on life, gave him seed money to attend Allegheny College. Combined with a football scholarship, this covered his education costs.
Early in his adult life, Hub purchased Landis Manufacturing Systems, a machine shop near Quakertown, PA. The business became very successful and provided jobs for many in the area. Hub also served as a mentor for dozens of people.
After selling Landis, Hub relocated to Casey Key, Florida, with his wife Elaine, where they enjoyed boating and spent many pleasant years exploring southern Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Mae Ocamb; sons Scott Ocamb, Randall Ocamb, and Stephen Schrack; grandchildren Stephanie Schrack, Sydney Schrack, Corinne Yantis, Benjamin Ocamb, Madeline Ocamb, and Nina Foy; and great-grandchildren David Ollikainen, Adam Foy, Caelan Foy, and Teagan Foy.
Hubert Ocamb enjoyed a very, fulfilling life over his 94 years. Those who knew him best understood that this day would eventually arrive, yet his absence will be deeply felt by all.
