We regretfully announce the passing of Diane E. Rondeau of Salinas, California, on February 11, 2026. Diane passed away peacefully, surrounded by love.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Rondeau, and her second partner, Bruce E. Sampson Sr.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Kim Fernandez, and son-in-law, Jose Fernandez; her cherished grandson, Nick Fernandez, and granddaughter-in-law, Klaryssa Fernandez; her beloved granddaughter, Vanessa Fernandez; and her three treasured great-granddaughters, Camilia, Olivia and Zoe.
Diane will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the fierce love she had for those close to her. She adored her dogs and birds and treated them like royalty. If you truly knew Diane, you knew about the hippos. She was not just a fan, she was completely and unapologetically obsessed. Whether it was decorations, collectibles, or fun facts, hippos held a special place in her heart. We like to imagine that heaven welcomed her with open arms and perhaps even a few hippos waiting to greet her.
Diane will forever remain in our hearts and memories. We take comfort in imagining her receiving the royal treatment she so greatly deserves. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. May you rest in peace.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 11:00 am at Mission Mortuary Seaside Chapel, 1915 Ord Grove Ave. Seaside, CA 93955.

Mission Mortuary - Seaside
Centrally located on the Monterey Peninsula, Mission Mortuary has been the premier funeral home choice for Monterey and the entire peninsula for decades. Mission Mortuary opened its doors in 1946, first on Munras Avenue in Monterey and to our current location on Camino El Estero, walking distance to the Pacific Ocean and area cemeteries, in 1952. Despite our long history, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of our families. Our facility includes spaces both large and small. Whether a handful of friends and family or a large crowd, we can accommodate all. As a reflection of our commitment to our diverse region, we offer multicultural funerals....
