Allan Francis Oleson
March 23, 1940 — February 23, 2026
Allan Francis Oleson passed away on February 23, 2026, in Westminster, Colorado. He was 85 years old.
Allan was born on March 23, 1940, on his grandparents' farm outside Palisade, Nebraska. He was the first child of Merle Oleson and Dorothea Welk, who preceded him in death. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Oleson and Warren Oleson, one sister, Janet Tate, and sadly by his children, Scott Alan Oleson and Dana Jean Beck.
Allan married Norma Jean Aurich on August 20, 1961.
Allan served four years in the United States Navy aboard the USS Des Moines (CA-134). He was proud of his service and remained a patriot throughout his life.
Al loved his job as a radio announcer in both Colorado and Nebraska. He retired after 30 years as a meat cutter at King Soopers. In retirement, he was a school bus driver for Jefferson County Public Schools. He enjoyed his experience with the students.
Al was an active member of the Lutheran church throughout his life, serving in many roles, including Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School volunteer, and founding the junior high youth group.
He had six grandchildren: April Audett (Kansas), Christian Scott Oleson (Texas), Thomas Ryan Oleson (Ohio), Mia Joy Beck, Faith Elise Beck, and Sonya Marie Oleson, all of Colorado. His grandchildren meant so much to him. He always had a story to tell them or a song to remember. He also loved and enjoyed his six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating Allan's life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 6695 W. 120th Avenue, Broomfield, Colorado 80020.
A reception will follow at the church.
All are welcome to join the family in fellowship and remembrance.
