Charles (Charlie) Henry Viegel, Jr., age 89, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026 in Peoria, Arizona. Born on December 13, 1936 in Gilcrest, Colorado.

Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He enjoyed a long career as a Warehouse Manager at Sealy Mattress where he retired.

Charles married the love of his life, Joni Viegel in 1987. They enjoyed their life together going to Laughlin and many casinos along the way, watching sports and old westerns on TV, traveling to Nebraska/Iowa where he loved driving tractors on a family farm, and spending time with family and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline Hirsch and Charles H. Viegel and his older sisters.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife Joni Viegel, sons Carl (Kelly) Viegel, Dale (Debbie) Thorman, David (Jill) Thorman, and daughter Barb (Rod) Gengler, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on March 12th at 10:30 am.
