Obituary Kenneth John Potter was born to Charles and Edith Potter on March 28, 1921 at Waterman, Oregon, where they lived on a homestead. He later moved to Connell, Washington; Moscow, Idaho, and Naches, Washington, where he graduated from high school in 1939. After graduation he worked as a letter carrier at Yakima Post Office until 1943 when he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served with the 101st Airborne Division in Europe where over the next two years he was in battles and campaigns including the landing at Utah Beach in Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes, and action in the Rhineland and Central Europe as a platoon sergeant rifleman. He was injured in France and received the Purple Heart. Other medals included the Bronze Star, Bronze Arrowhead, Frances medal the Croix de Guerre, Good Conduct and Victory medals. He was honorably discharged at Fort Lewis, Washington after the war in Europe ended in 1945. He began attending Northwest Nazarene College in January 1946, graduating summa cum laude in 1949. He taught one year of Junior High School in Sandpoint, Idaho, before moving to Seattle and attending the University of Washington for a year. He met and married Wilma Stockton in 1951 in Seattle. He worked at Boeing in Seattle, General Dynamics in San Diego and Pomona, California, and the IRS and U.S. Post Office in San Diego until his retirement at 70 years of age in 1991. Through the years he was a faithful attender of numerous Nazarene Churches and served on various church boards for decades. He is survived by his children, Byron Potter, Beverly Bynum, David Potter, Mark Potter and Joe Potter, and by 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma, his parents Charles & Edith Potter, and five brothers and three sisters. Services Cornerstone Community Church 11145 E. Hwy 24 Peyton, CO 80831
